Brien handles the day-to-day mechanics of brand protection so his domestic and international clients can focus on growing their businesses. He specializes in brand protection, trademark availability searches, trademark and copyright prosecution, enforcement, and preparation of assignment, license, consent, and coexistence agreements. Brien also has experience with design patent enforcement and litigation.

Brien graduated from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law in 2024. Along with his J.D., he earned certificates in Intellectual Property Law and Entertainment Law. Brien worked as a legal extern for The Research Foundation for SUNY, offering intellectual property legal services to professors and graduate students within the SUNY system. While in school, Brien supplemented his IP experience with a focus on entertainment, corporate, and federal and multi-state tax law, including extensive work with the New Hampshire-based non-profit law firm, 603 Legal Aid, providing state and federal tax legal services to incarcerated and low-income individuals throughout the state.

Brien's practice is further informed by his focus on corporate and federal/multi-state tax law, and his previous career in consumer marketing and brand development consulting. Prior to attending law school, he worked as an analyst and project manager in the fields of market research and consumer insights consulting. Brien’s professional background offers him a unique perspective, allowing him to relate to entrepreneurs and companies in assessing their intellectual property needs in relation to their business goals.

Brien is originally from upstate New York and attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, earning a B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Applied Mathematics. Growing up in the mountains, he is an avid long-distance runner, aspiring triathlete, and participates in an annual hike of the Presidential Traverse. While working as a full-time consultant, he moonlighted as an events DJ and MC with a small Boston-based events company.
